In the playback click on the pro 40 -> properties -> advance tab, and make sure you have the settings set to what the pro 40 is set to in the mix control. Make sure that the pro 40 is set to default and optionally the only interface in the sound options located here. I also had a few emails with focusrite, but nothing has come out of it yet. This is something I have seen with the pro 40 and the liquid 56. I have an old Profire 410 that saves the day often but I really need the inputs on the Saffire Help!!! I have an Asus i7 with tons of memory etc but I cant get this to come down, Take a screenshot of preferences folder before and after connection, try to find this file if it exists.I am getting the dreaded ASIO changes have been made my the Control Panel please restart ProTools, every time I open a session , Try to make sure that this isn't a figment of my imagination. I saw the list jump as if the Saffire had just add a file. Try to make this thing disappear and reappear at will.Ģ) While I had the Library preferences folder open, I plugged in the Saffire. The tech guy had no idea what it was, and neither does anybody else it seems: Sound Icon Greyed Out - Midi AutoAggDevice auto-createdġ) Find a way to delete the AutoAggDevice, whatever it is. I wonder if this AutoAggDevice is the root or symptom of all the problems. This makes me think it's been created in some preference file. I didn't create it, yet when I delete it from Audio Midi Setup it reappears in sound in system preferences upon restart. This AutoAggDevice is a complete mystery. The Peavey p-usb appears under it's own name in the sound/system preferences window when connected. No luck.ģ) I was wrong about the "AutoAggDevice". Is Saffire leaving some trace behind, where Core Audio thinks that it is still there? I am completely stumped.ġ) Apple tech support was able to help me narrow down that the problem is software and not hardware, but not any further.Ģ) Reinstalled operating system. Check sample rate between Garageband and External Devices. How ironic if Garageband solves this problem!ġ) Garageband has the same problem as Logic: no input signal when internal microphone is chosen as device.Ģ) After recording for a few seconds, a window pops up: "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and Midi: Sample rate 480000 recognized. Here's another thing that might be related. Now I've gotten something to happen every time:Ģ) Upon restart, the internal microphone will work in Logic.ģ) Plug-in Saffire Pro 40, get same exact problems as in above postģ) Detach Saffire, internal microphone no longer works. I thought it was odd at the time, but not to unusual. I remember that when I first got Logic Pro X, I couldn't get the internal microphone to work. I tried repeatedly turning the "core audio" checkbox on and off, uninstalling the driver for the Peavey, disk repair, and endless restarts. Then all the audio devices disappear and it says "no audio inputs available". When opening sound system preferences, the "Saffire" is automatically selected, but when mousing over it, I get a beach ball. That version does not work with Yosemite 10.10.2. I tried to downgrade the Mix Control back to 3.4. I re-opened Logic Pro 9, and it's giving me exactly the same symptoms. Eventually after a few attempts at initializing core audio, Logic proclaims "Selected Driver Not Found. At the same time, the sample rate on the Mix Control window will revert back to 44.1. When I open Logic Pro X, a window says "initializing core audio". This appears as "AutoAggDevice" in input and output in sound system preferences. Several things have changed and now I can't figure out which one did it!ģ) Updated to Saffire Mix Control 3.5 (the software (and driver) that runs the Saffire Pro 40).Ĥ) I got a Peavey p-usb (USB DI box) for stage use. I was using Logic Pro 9 with a Saffire Pro 40 with zero problems a month ago. I am running a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010), 2.53 GHz i5, 8 gb ram, 256 SSD.
